GWIHR unfolds a transformational journey of six months between January and July 2023 that would forever remain remarkable in the lives of two sex workers who are survivors of sexual violence.
GWIHR is a remarkable organization that focuses on providing support to sex workers who are survivors of sexual violence, especially those with children and living with HIV. Today GWIHR provided support and empowerment for sex workers who are survivors of sexual violence with their children.
GWIHR through the core funding received from ISDAO under the Love Alliance Program is seeking qualified individuals or firms to conduct a baseline study as part of our ISDAO project. We are looking for experienced professionals with a strong background in conducting baseline studies and evaluating development projects.

In the statement titled ” International Women’s Day 2023: DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”, GWIHR described IWD which is commemorated every year on 8th March, as a remarkable day to acknowledge and celebrate women’s achievements and also highlight gaps in inclusion and raise awareness of gender equality.
GWIHR held a Policy Level Workshop with stakeholders, sex workers’ leaders, and other civil organizations to review laws and policies and improve policies on gender-based violence against sex workers and the implementation of protecting laws, such as the Violence Against People (Prohibition) (VAAP) Act, National Gender Policy and Sexual Offenses Act.
GWIHR engaged in Media Sensitization @ Radio Rivers, 99.1 Fm, on the need to Promote the Sexual Reproductive Health and Right of Sex Workers in their Diversity.
GWIHR commemorated the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers on December 17, 2022, by raising awareness of the human rights that every sex worker has, and thus the need to respect them.
GWIHR in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission, Abia State sensitizes the public on sex workers’ rights and the psychological implications of stigma and discrimination against sex workers.
