Review of section four (4) of the Rivers State Reproductive Law by the State Primary Healthcare Management Board. 2
The successful advocacy campaign conducted to the Primary Health Care Management Board represents a significant milestone in the journey towards enhancing women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights in Rivers State. This achievement underscores the power of collaborative efforts and persuasive dialogue in influencing policy change and promoting the well-being of women and girls.

At the heart of this advocacy campaign was the recognition of the critical need to revise the Reproductive Law of Rivers State to better align it with principles that prioritize and safeguard women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights. This recognition stemmed from an understanding of the inadequacies and shortcomings present within the existing legal framework, which may have hindered access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare services and denied women the autonomy to make informed decisions about their bodies and lives. This activity was conducted under African Women’s Development Fund project
