Greater Women Initiative for Health and Right (GWIHR), in collaboration with UN Women and various civil society organizations in Nigeria, has conducted a comprehensive assessment of the violence affecting women and girls in the country. This initiative aims to transform harmful social norms and end gender-based violence (GBV).
GWIHR held a Policy Level Workshop with stakeholders, sex workers’ leaders, and other civil organizations to review laws and policies and improve policies on gender-based violence against sex workers and the implementation of protecting laws, such as the Violence Against People (Prohibition) (VAAP) Act, National Gender Policy and Sexual Offenses Act.
